Left Panel: Top: Pyrogram of PP standard without Alumina (conventional pyrolysis at 600 ℃ for 1 min). A single peak assigned to 2,3-dimethyl1-heptene is observed at  ~5.32 min. Bottom: Pyrogram of PP standard with Alumina (conventional pyrolysis at 600 ℃ for 1 min). Several peaks containing mass ions m/z = 126 are observed indicating isomerization of 2,4-dimethyl 1-heptene. Right Panel: Top: Pyrogram of PU standard with Alumina (conventional pyrolysis at 600 ℃ for 1 min). Evidence for MDI was not observed indicating hydrolysis of MDI to MDA proceeds in the presence of alumina. Bottom: Pyrogram of PU standard without Alumina (conventional pyrolysis at 600 ℃ for 1 min).
