Illustration of the origin of ejected particles. All particles in ejected droplets by t=10ms are colored in red. At t=0ms (left column) these particles are located on a ring around the impact site directly under the surface. They are the first to enter the crown and to get into separated droplets during crown breakup (right column at t=5ms).
